On the morning of December 5, 2023, on the international volunteer day, instead of celebrating an event for our foundation, our volunteers Volodymyr Aleynik, Roman Soldatov, Ryma Filimoshkina, vice-president Anatoliy and the head of the charity organization Oleksandr Zemechev went on a humanitarian trip, and headed to the eastern part of Ukraine, where the fiercest battles are taking place, and precisely the frontline cities and villages are suffering from weapons, bombs and russian aggression, where thousands of Ukrainians have lost their homes and cannot live normally, because they are cut off from civilization and cannot live their lives comfortably. Ukraine has been enduring these terrible living conditions for two years, and the frontline territories are literally surviving.
The first stop was in Poltava, where there are refugees from the eastern part of Ukraine, namely from Donetsk region and Kharkiv regions. The director of ULCD (UTOG) Leonid Usenko undertook the organization and placement of humanitarian aid for people with hearing impairment who lost their homes and were trying to build a new life in a new place.
Our volunteers have already provided humanitarian aid three times in Poltava, and we will continue to provide humanitarian aid as needed. We were warmly welcomed, and happy to help, feeling joy in our souls. We were treated with traditional Poltava dumplings as a sign of gratitude and to remind us that Ukraine is a strong nation and we have a great culture, and the main thing is that it is not taken away from us.
But what our volunteers provide is always not enough, requests for humanitarian aid are growing, and the list of necessary things is endless, because we only cover half of the needs. People also ask for hearing aids, because it allows them to hear sirens and explosions to protect themselves timely. Also lanterns, heaters help survive a blackout in frontline areas. Warm things and clothes are no exception, because not every emigrant can buy clothes for himself, especially the elderly, families with children, as well as people with limited mobility, for whom it is becoming more and more difficult even to go to get bread.
It is for this reason that our charity organization exists, our volunteers collect humanitarian aid from Europe and charitable contributions to replenish our fund. All of this goes to cover the ever-growing list of humanitarian products, items and other needs.
If not us, then who? Join us for a good cause. Together we step towards victory.
